Eating out with Instagram: I'm No Longer a Bonchon Virgin

I’m no longer a Bonchon virgin!!! What’s Bonchon?

"Walk down any neighborhood in Korea and you’ll find a mom-and-pop fried chicken joint on almost every block. With years of hands-on experience with Korean cuisine, founder Jinduk Seh, decided to focus on perfecting a recipe for fried chicken, and share one of his country’s favorite comfort foods with the world. What to do with Leftover Cooked Chicken Breasts? Curried Chicken Salad with Mango & Pumpkin Seeds

Certain people (uhm, my mom and my friend Cecilia to name a few!) get quite upset that I only cook and eat skinless boneless chicken breasts. What can I say? That's what I like! {Well, other than my occasional insane craving for chicken wings!!!}

Last week I made a quick dinner of sauteed chicken breasts with broccoli and onions served over rice. I had a few chicken pieces leftover, and

Black Bean and Chicken Soup Recipe

Back in March I bought myself my first oval Le Creuset. It's orange and beautiful, but it stood around my condo for months before I finally decided to use it. What was I waiting for???

The first dish I made in my oval Le Creuset was this Black Bean and Chicken Soup. The recipe has been sitting in my drafts folder for a while, and it's time I finally type it up. Make it! You will like it for

Cooking with ScratchDC: Chicken Tikka Masala

On Monday I got a chance to try out ScratchDC (for free!!!). They delivered a box full of ingredients to make Chicken Tikka Masala to my work and asked me to give it a whirl in my kitchen.

Of course they knew I wasn't going to follow directions to a t. But let me back up a bit...

Cheesy Peas with Grilled Sausage: Russian Recipes Revisited

For this Russian Recipes Revisited post you get just one photograph. Sorry about that...but I'll also tell you a story...so that should make up for that.

When I was a little girl growing up in Russia, there were certain foods I loved. I've already told you about some of them, but here's another: hot dogs with peas. The hot dogs were simply boiled and served sans buns on a plate. The peas

Ezhiki aka "Hedgehogs" Meatballs with Rice: Russian Recipes Revisited

Last month's recipe for Sour Cream Cake was quite involved, so for this month's Russian Recipes Revisited series I decided to make something simpler and also savory.

Growing up in Russia, we had ground beef often. My mom made "fancy" meatloaf by putting hard boiled eggs inside so that when you cut into the meatloaf, you would get a pretty yellow and white center.

Instead of burgers, we had

What to do with Chicken Breasts? Recipe for Chicken with Olives and Oranges

Last Friday, instead of going grocery shopping after work, I chose to torture myself at Nordstrom Rack. Why torture? Because nothing fit. I left frustrated, trying not to cry. Yes, it's my fault: I've been eating too much without any physical activity other than a weekly salsa dancing outing.

I know I need to change.

I must.

What does any of this have to do with a recipe for Chicken with

Everyday Food's Chicken & Lentil Burger with my sping

Earlier this month my friend Stacey gave me the latest Everyday Food magazine. I paged through it and ripped out three different recipes that appealed to me.

Today, I'd like to share with you a recipe for Chicken and Lentil Burger. Of course I had to put my own spin on this by adding sundried tomato and goat cheese spread. Other than that, I pretty much followed Everyday Food's recipe, and it

Cooking with PastaPrima: Grilled Chicken Ravioli with Vegetables & Blue Cheese

A few weeks ago I received a package from PastaPrima with several varieties of ravioli and was asked to come up with a fun recipe that would not be your typical ravioli with sauce dish.

I was up for the challenge! Who knows, maybe I'll even win the grand prize of $1,000 worth of must-have kitchen tools?

One can dream, right?

About PastaPrima:

"Pasta Prima is both American owned and family

Recipe for Chicken Tortilla Soup with Black Beans

Last week I shared with you a recipe for Split Pea soup from Aviva. Today I want to tell you about a Chicken Tortilla Soup with Black Beans that is based on the recipe Paige emailed me. Of course I had to change a few things: otherwise it would not be a Mango Tomato recipe.

Ingredients
2 teaspoons olive oil
1 large onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, sliced
1/2 jalapeno, seeds removed, chopped

Moroccan chicken

This recipe for Moroccan chicken came about partially because my mom made it in Seattle, and my sister and my dad liked it. There is nothing strange about my sister and mom liking Moroccan chicken. But the fact that my dad liked a dish with spices other than your typical salt/pepper/garlic/parsley, is really saying something!

Last weekend I decided to have a few of my friends over for dinner and

Lunch at Kushi in DC

Luckily, I'm not one of those girls who is afraid to do things solo. If I was, I'd miss out on amazing trips (San Francisco, Boston, New York, etc,), interesting museum exhibits, plays and great meals. Last week I decided to treat myself to lunch at Kushi and see what all the buzz is about.

First, the decor is gorgeous. Stainless steel, dark wood and beautiful pottery. Unfortunately, I could
